Delivery / Pick Up and Returns

Pick Up:

All orders are available for pick up. Pick up orders can be collected warehouse at Unit 5, 3 William Pickering Drive, Albany, Auckland at no extra charge.

You will receive a second email when your order is ready for pick up, this is usually within 24 hours for in stock items, or as soon as your item arrives for backorder items (often 3 - 7 days).

Nationwide New Zealand Shipping:

Shipping is available nationwide and internationally. We ship with NZ Post and New Zealand Couriers and our average delivery time for orders in stock is 1 - 5 days, and 2 - 10 days for orders that are available with supplier.

Special Order products, such as those on backorder, have varying ETAs. Please contact us if you want to check before ordering. Some parts (that come from Europe, America, or other overseas locations) can take a little while.

International Orders:

We offer shipping to international locations but not all countries and products are supported. Generally, if you are an international customer and you can select your country and address at checkout, it means we can ship that product to you. Please get in touch with us if you want further information.

Returns:

If your order has not been picked up or shipped yet, you can cancel your order for a FULL REFUND.

If you have already received a part and it is incorrect or you no longer need it, you must let us know within 14 days of receiving your part.

NOTE FOR ALL RETURNS: You must notify us before sending a part back and get approval for returns. Parts that are sent back without notifying us in advance may not be approved for refund or return and you will be responsible for return shipping to get this part back to you.

We do not accept returns on electrical products, but on all other parts can offer exchange / refund. The parts must not be used, damaged, or opened (on parts in packaging) and may be subject to restocking fees of up to 20% (depending on the part).

If you have received a faulty or damaged product, we will always offer a replacement or refund depending on availability at not cost to you.

Fisher & Paykel Heat Pump Dryer Drum Bearing Kit – Fix Squeaking from Earth Tabs

If your Fisher & Paykel heat pump dryer is squeaking from the rear of the drum, the cause is often the copper-coloured earth tabs rubbing. The official Drum Bearing Kit replaces the original components and eliminates the noise. This guide follows instruction sheet 428385 Rev. 12.24, with additional tips for a faster and safer installation.

Compatible with
Fisher & Paykel heat pump dryers only where copper earth tabs are present and causing noise.

Use all components supplied in the kit. Do not reuse the old earth tab, bearing, or locknut.

Important
This is a field fix. If you are unsure about compatibility, email us a photo of your model/serial label and the rear panel area before ordering.

Common Symptoms
• Persistent squeak or screech from the rear of the drum
• Noise may reduce temporarily when warm, then return
• Visible wear marks on copper earth tabs

Kit Contents (typical)
• New ball bearing
• Spacer sleeve
• Locknut
• Updated bearing housing (reuses original four screws)

Tools Required
• Phillips screwdriver or nut driver
• Small socket or spanner for locknut
• Torx driver (some models)
• Gloves and eye protection

Installation Steps (Based on Instruction 428385 Rev. 12.24)

  1. Switch off and unplug the dryer.

  2. Remove the fan and rear duct cover.

  3. Remove and discard the earth tab.

  4. Remove and discard the locknut from the rear shaft.

  5. Remove the four screws securing the bearing housing and remove the housing. Retain the screws.

  6. Slide the old bearing off the shaft.

  7. Fit the new ball bearing onto the shaft.

  8. Install the spacer sleeve against the bearing.

  9. Fit the new locknut onto the shaft thread and tighten firmly so the bearing is securely clamped.

  10. Install the new housing over the bearing and secure it using the original four screws.

  11. Refit the fan and duct cover.

  12. Restore power and run a test cycle. Listen for abnormal noise.

Tip
If a squeak remains, recheck that the locknut is fully tightened and that the spacer sleeve is seated firmly against the bearing.

Post-Installation Checks
• Drum rotates freely by hand with no scraping or squeaking
• Rear housing sits flush and screws are evenly tightened
• No rubbing around the fan or duct cover

Safety Notes
• Always unplug the appliance before servicing.
• If the shaft shows scoring or excessive play, additional parts may be required.
• Follow ESD precautions when working near electronic control boards.

FAQs

Does this kit fit condenser or vented dryers?
No. This fix applies only to heat pump models fitted with copper earth tabs.

Can I reuse the old locknut or earth tab?
No. These parts must be discarded and replaced with the new components supplied in the kit.

I still hear noise after installation.
Check that the bearing is fully clamped, the spacer is correctly positioned, and the housing screws are evenly tightened.
